Resume

Maddine Insalaco received a Master of Fine Arts in Painting at the New York Academy of Art in 1996. She currently divides her life between Tuscany, Italy where she and her artist husband, Joe Vinson, direct open air landscape painting workshops in the warm months, and New York where she maintains her studio in the winter. A previous career in international finance in the private sector began with an M.A. from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and brought her to Italy for ten years with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in Rome.

Ms. Insalaco’s interest in the historical origins and subsequent influence of Italian open air painting spawned an ongoing project in the Roman Campagna which has formed the subject of public lectures in venues such as Sotheby’s and The National Academy of Design School in New York, as well as some recent publications. She is strongly committed to the role that natural beauty plays in human existence and her work represents an attempt to celebrate that relationship.

Her work has been shown extensively in both solo and group exhibitions in the United States, Italy, and France.
