Vision

                                       

Marlies Ihmels-Herget (a.k.a. Marlies Ihmels and Marlies Herget) is known for her aesthetic designs and fine paintings which have inspired many followers and collectors world wide.  Mrs. Ihmels-Herget is well versed in many areas of fine art, design and business. Her aspiration to work in the fine arts has led her to create paintings based on the principals of balance and harmony.

Fine Art  Marlies Ihmels-Herget's professional experience in the field of fine art covers many areas.  Mrs. Ihmels-Herget has gained experience as curator for international art exhibitions, has taught and lectured at the New York Academy, at MIHstudio, and other private institutions.  She has given speeches at private social clubs in New York.  Her paintings have been widely exhibited in several Solo Exhibitions and Group Exhibition at museums, universities, galleries and other organizations.  Her subject matter includes allegorical figure composition, portraiture, still-life, and landscape. 

Design / Publications / Awards   Mrs. Ihmels-Herget has worked as a fashion designer for the industries.  Her designs have been published on the front page of the "Berliner Zeitung", and magazines including "Fuer Sie", "Frau" and "Textil Report".  She is the recipient of several gold medals for excellent design sponsored by the trade magazine "Textil Report", Germany.

Education    Marlies Ihmels-Herget received a BA from the University Bremen, University of the Arts Bremen, Germany in 1972 and a MFA from the New York Academy of Art, New York, USA 1996.

Honors      Mrs. Ihmels-Herget is the recipient of the " Walter Erlebacher Award ", New York Academy of Art, New York, NY

Dole Memorial Award, Grand National Exhibition, NY;  the 1991 Hudson Valley Award, Salmagundi Club, New York; the 1989 Helen G. Oehler Memorial Award, APPL Grand National Exhibition New York, NY
