Marlies Ihmels-Herget
(a.k.a. Marlies Ihmels - German-American) is known for her aesthetic designs and fine paintings which have inspired many followers and collectors world wide. Born in Germany, she has lived and worked in Europe and the United States. Her works of fine art and design are based on the principals of structural balance thus conveying a distinct inner harmony.
The Vision
Her interest is a new dialogue which incorporates feelings and intellect, therefore creating a new all-inclusive view versus representations of post-modern deconstruction. The all-encompassing expression is independent of style, content and context. It is revealed through the composition. The position and proportion of all elements
as they relate to each other and their environment
are thereby creating meaning. The meaning can be recognized on both levels, that of feeling (unconscious) and intellect (conscious). In its purest state the integration of feeling and intellect may communicate a certain aliveness. This form of expression is not limited to painting and will be perceived as highly aesthetic.
